John Christie and his opera singer wife, Audrey Mildmay founded Glyndebourne in 1934. Crucially, Glyndebourne has remained financially independent since 1934. They present opera of the highest quality, commission new works, develop new talent with a view to reaching new audiences.

Thanks to the tradition of wearing evening dress during the Glyndebourne Festival, this is a perfect chance to dress up and enjoy this special occasion in style.

We chauffeur many opera-goers from London and the rest of the UK to Glyndebourne. Thanks to our superior local knowledge we are aware of the best roads to navigate to and from the estate. Normally we would pick you up after lunch and drive you to the opera. Once you were on site your chauffeur would wait for you then drive you home late in the evening. Whether you are using the long interval between the operas for a picnic dinner on the lawns, or you wish to dine in one of the restaurants on the grounds our chauffeurs will assist you .

You can enjoy the opera knowing you are not in a rush to catch the last train home. Our chauffeurs will help you with your picnic baskets and tables and return them to the vehicle whilst you are enjoying the last act.
